Herman J Sperling, President and CEO

CEO of HJS Markets LLC, with more than four decades of international experience in both Fortune 500s and entrepreneurial environments. Until recently he was the Group VP of Marketing at Harman International (NYSE: HAR) and before that the National Sales Manager and Marketing Manager at Bose Corporation. He was a Member of the Board of Industry Leaders of the CTA (formerly the Consumer Electronics Association), served on three CEA divisional boards and chaired the CEA’s Research Committee. Mr. Sperling served on the Board of his prior HOA in NY, on eBay’s Advisory Board and those of 5 private firms. He has received numerous awards for products developed, including Best Home Theater System under $2,500 from Video Review Magazine, Best Product of the Year from Business Week Magazine, and Audio Product of the Year from CD Magazine. Mr. Sperling has lectured at MIT (Sloan — advanced marketing management), UNC (entrepreneurship) and UCLA (Anderson School — product development), spoken on behalf of Microsoft (social marketing) and Tata (innovation), has performed post graduate work towards an MEd in Guidance and Counseling from Tufts University, holds a BA with majors in Psychology and Sociology from Emerson College and studies in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.

Eyal Laifer, CTO

Eyal is a DSP engineer and expert in developing and implementing blended learning systems and curriculum. He is an expert in implementing large scale LMS’s, ICT consultant in educational institutions and commercial companies, He has also lectured within blended learning courses, e.g. at the Jerusalem College of Technology and at Ono Academic College, as well as published articles on this subject, e.g. Laifer, E. & Rahimi, I. (2010). Blended Learning: Effective Technology and Methodology in Higher Education, The 21st Annual SITE International Conference. Mr. Laifer has been an official Israeli lecturer of the international communication company HP. He has also served as a Development Engineer at RAD Data Communications. Mr. Laifer holds an MA in Education specializing in Instructing Exact Sciences, a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Teaching Certificate, all three from Tel-Aviv University.

Sigal Oppenhaim-Shachar, Chief Scientist

Sigal Oppenhaim-Shachar completed her PhD at Bar Ilan University in 2012. She is a lecturer and researcher at the Gender Studies Program; Sociology and Anthropology Department and in the school of Education at Bar-Ilan University, and at Ono Academic College. Her works has been published both at American\ British and Israelis academic journals. Her interests include girlhood studies, feminist pedagogy and educational intervention processes, especially with stigmatized communities.

Sigal initiated the Daphna Center in 2010—a professional development and training center established by the Bar-Ilan University Gender Studies Program, and managed the program up to the end of 2014
